Maintain Customer or Prospect in Peachtree
First of all, starting maintaining the customer or business’s prospects account, we will look for the maintain option in which customer/prospects option lies.


From the maintain option, very first option is of the customer clicking to which the following window would appear.

Here in the above drawn one can find easily several empty columns and fields.The very first requirement is of the customer ID. This area should contain a unique number or alphabets or combination of both. But make sure it doesn't match to two customers. Otherwise the system will not save the information.
The second must requirement is of the customer name. Again, it should be entered and enables user to find them when they need it. The customer record will not be saved until unless the GL Sales Account field is not entered. The following message will be displayed that “is not a legal general account.”


The basic information that we have to provide in sales default the general sales account.
here we click on the beginning balance written on right below side of the window and following  screen will appear:

here we will write the beginning balance of our customer but careful about the company selected, like in above screen the invoice is of customer of the company.

Chart Of Accounts   
First step Open the Peachtree software go to Maintain icon after clicking on the Chart Of Accounts following window will appear in front of you.

By clicking on search button you can maintain the Chart Of Accounts

Click on search button following window will appear
Select any item by clicking on this icon

Now if you want to change any information you can change and if you want to change id you can change this by clicking on this icon

Now b clicking on this icon you can save the data you edited.

Set up of a new company :
Open the Peachtree software by double clicking on the icon of Peachtree to establish a new company record, following window will appear :    


In the opened window you will face 5  different options,  Click on the “Set up of a new company” option and the following screen will now appear on your screens:

Now, here you will experience the 5 things the software will ask you about, after reading the things you will click on the “NEXT” button, and the following window will appear on your screen:

Now, in  this window you will provide  the company’s information , and the things software ask you about, here the company’s name is important to mention, after providing the relevant information you will click on the “NEXT” button , and the following screen will appear:

Here, you will experience several methods to setup the charts of accounts, you will select the last option that is “Build your own company” as  you are setting up a new company, after selecting the last option in the window you again will click on the “NEXT” button, and this screen will appear:

The Next step is to choose the “Accounting Method”. Here are mentioned two accounting methods Cash and Accrual. Accrual method is usually adopted, so by selecting the Accrual option we will proceed further and click the “NEXT” button again, and the following screen will appear:

Now here we will select the appropriate “Posting Method” which is Real Time  posting method, we select Real time because the transactions are posted to the General Ledgers as they are entered and saved automatically. Now we will again click on the “NEXT” button and proceed further :

The next phase is to select the “Accounting Period”, normal accounting period is of 12 months, so by selecting it , we will again click on the “NEXT” button and the following screen will appear:

In the next step we have to choose the month when accounting period will start and also the month the first transaction is recorded, by doing so , we will click on the “NEXT” button and the following screen we will face: 


This is the “Congratulations” screen which indicates that you have completed the required information to process the Peachtree software, after clicking on the “FINISH” button the company set up will be completed.

how to open a file in word



Opening Microsoft Word Documents
We'll shortly add an address to the top of our Library Complaint letter. Before we do that, we'll learn how to open a file. After all, you might have closed down Microsoft Word, or your computer might have crashed. The result being that you no longer have your library letter loaded into Word. So here's how to Open a file you have saved, and want to work on again.
From the File menu, click Open:

The Open dialogue box appears, and looks like the image below:

The Open dialogue box looks very similar to the Save As dialogue box. "Save in", "File name", and "Files of type" work in exactly the same way as the Save As dialogue box. Notice, though that the File name text box is blank, and the Open button is not available. It has been greyed out.
The reason that the Open button is greyed out, and therefore not available, is that text box is empty. Once you select a file, the Open button will be ready for us.
But the text box is empty because no file has been selected. A file is selected from the larger white area in the middle. Clicking on the file once with the left hand mouse button will select a file. In the previous image, there was only one file available for selection - a document called "rrKeyCaps.doc". That is not the one we want.
To locate the file we want, we need to open the folder called "My WP Projects". Because that's where we saved it. You can see from the image that this folder is in the list of folders, just below the folder called My Pictures:
